MYTHO (VIETNAM)

We found our way out of Saigon to the long distance bus terminal. The bus ride was not too bad but we got dropped off a little outside from town. Getting off the bus we were surrounded by motorbike taxis wanting to give us a lift. We didn’t think it was possible but they do anything for a bit of money.

We hired a boat and a guide to show us around the Mekong Delta. It’s rather dirty everywhere and the attempt by Phil to fish in the Mekong River was not very successful.

We had a look around town for something to eat. There were no restaurants, just street food or eating halls where they serve one dish only. I ended up eating a lovely fish soup and Vietnamese spring rolls with shrimps for $1. Phil didn’t trust in the fish of the street so we found another little place where they sold bbq pork and they gave me a plate too, 2 meals for Petra.

We visited Vinh Trang Pagoda the next day and headed off to Cantho afterwards.
